Turkish, Iranian, Brazilian ministers meet in Tehran

The Turkish, Iranian and Brazilian ministers met in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Sunday to discuss Iran's nuclear energy controversy.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki hosted the trilateral meeting with Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim.

The three ministers debated a common formula regarding uranium exchange during the two-and-a-half-hour meeting.

Sources said the meeting took place in a positive atmosphere, and set the real aim of the meeting as finding a peaceful solution to the issue.

Technical teams of the three countries still continue their meeting.

The three ministers are expected to meet again later on Sunday.

Turkey and Brazil, the two non-permanent members of the United Nations (UN) Security Council, object to new sanctions and try to find a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the issue.
