Turkey's Labor & Social Security Minister Omer Dincer met Turkish people living in New Zealand on Saturday.
Dincer is in New Zealand for the Turkey-New Zealand Joint Economic Committee meeting.
Dincer visited "Pearl of the Islands Foundation Incorporated", a non-profit organisation established by the Turkish community in New Zealand, and listened to problems of Turkish people about social security, education and visa.
Dincer said Turkish and New Zealand's officials discussed several issues during his talks, including visa, travel and trade. He said visa-free travel was unlikely in the short run, however, he added that Turkish Airlines would be working on launch of flights to New Zealand, or at least to Australia.
Dincer also said that New Zealand wanted to sign an agreement on social security after a free trade deal.
