Turkey's energy minister was received by Azerbaijan's president in Baku on Saturday.
Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz, who arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the Sixth Meeting of Turkish-Azerbaijani Joint Economic Committee, held a closed-door meeting with the country's President Ilham Aliyev as part of his visit.
Yildiz also met with Azerbaijani Deputy Premier Abid Serifov and later attended the Turkish-Azerbaijani Joint Economic Committee meeting.
Commercial and economic issues, as well as transportation, industry, energy and tourism were on the agenda of the committee meeting, officials said.
Yildiz and Serifov signed a protocol during the gathering, as relevant institutions of the two countries signed a letter of intent on earth sciences and mine resources, sources added.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Yildiz said steps to be taken on Shah Deniz 1 and Shah Deniz 2 projects, as well as new projects concerning Turkey, Azerbaijan and Europe had been on the agenda of his gathering with the Azerbaijani president.
