The Turkish Navy Task Force (TDGG) will begin serving in the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas as of May 10 until July 5.

In a written press release, the Turkish Navy said that the TDGG was formed to contribute to international peace and security.

The TDGG will make it possible for concerted military exercises with various countries and facilitate port visits, the Turkish Navy said.

As part of the TDGG, TCG Kemalreis, TCG Gaziantep, TCG Turgutreis, and TCG Giresun frigates will be on duty without being tied to any coastal facilities.

A ceremony will take place at the Aksaz Navy Command in Marmaris town on May 10 to officially begin TDGG's mission.
