Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with the Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama Nuceyfi in Ankara on Thursday.
Erdogan's meeting with Nuceyfi lasted around 45 minutes and was closed to the press corps.
Earlier in the day, President Abdullah Gul received Nuceyfi.
Nuceyfi also met with Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin on Thursday.
Sahin said that the Turkish parliament was ready to extend support to the Iraqi parliament.
Turkey attached a great interest in security, tranquility and prosperity of Iraqi people, he said.
Iraqi Parliament Speaker Nuceyfi said that Iraqi people had full confidence in Turkish-Iraqi friendship and Turkey assumed a balanced, sincere and clear policy towards Iraq. Turkey always highlighted that it attached a great importance to territorial integrity of Iraq, Nuceyfi said.
Meeting with Davutoglu
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu also met Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi in Ankara on Thursday.
Before the meeting, Davutoglu said that it was al-Nujaifi's first visit to Turkey after his election as parliament speaker, adding that he was very pleased to see him in Ankara.
Al-Nujaifi, for his part, said that he had very fruitful meetings with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He said Turkey was a very important country for Iraq and he would continue to hold talks with senior Turkish officials.
