Turkish PM in phone diplomacy over Iran deal

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had phone conversations with leaders of several countries over Turkey's efforts regarding Iran's nuclear program.

A statement posted on Prime Ministry's website said that Erdogan had phone chats with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, Syrian President Bashar Al Assad, Qatar's Emir Al Thani and Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou to inform them about recent uranium swap deal signed in Tehran by Turkey, Iran and Brazil.

Erdogan also exchanged views with his counterparts regarding international recognition and status of Kosovo as Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci visits Turkey.

The statement said Erdogan will continue his phone diplomacy with leaders of members of the UN Security Council over Iran's nuclear program.
