Turkish PM meets Crimean Tatar leader in Ukraine

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is currently visiting Ukraine, received Crimean Tatar Parliament Speaker Mustafa Kirimoglu on Monday.

The meeting between Erdogan and Kirimoglu at Intercontinental Hotel in Kiev was closed to press.

During his visit, Erdogan will meet with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

Erdogan and Yanukovych are expected to sign a joint declaration for the establishment of a High Level Strategic Council between the two countries.

Prime Minister Erdogan will also participate in a meeting of the Turkish-Ukrainian Business Council in Kiev.

"Turkey-Ukraine relations developing"

Erdogan spoke to reporters in Ankara before departing for Ukraine on Monday.

Erdogan said that friendship and cooperation between Turkey and Ukraine were developing each day.

We will have the chance to discuss current international and regional matters during the meetings in Ukraine, added Erdogan who spoke to reporters in Ankara before departing for Ukraine on a formal visit on Monday.

In addition to the establishment of High Level Strategic Council between the two countries, Erdogan said that Turkey and Ukraine would also sign a series of agreements during the visit.

Erdogan said that he would attend the meeting of Turkey-Ukraine Business Council and also address chairmen of chambers and commodity exchanges on Tuesday in Kiev.

Noting that they would listen to the problems and views of Turkish and Ukrainian businessmen within the scope of Business Council meeting, Erdogan said that he would also be decorated with honorary doctorate by International Kiev University which was the biggest university of Ukraine.
