Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke Wednesday on the phone with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Italian counterpart Enrico Letta over the latest developments in Syria and Egypt.
Leaders exchanged views on regional issues especially in Egypt and Syria as well as bilateral relations, sources said.
In the phone conversation, Turkish Premier Erdogan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Al Thani stressed the need for more efforts by the international community to immediately start a democratic process both in Syria and Egypt.
They also agreed on accelerating the international efforts to solve the crises in Syria and Egypt.
Besides, Erdogan and the Italian Prime Minister Letta both expressed, in their phone talk, serious concerns over the use chemical weapons in Syria, jointly expecting an effective initiative by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on the incident.
Discussing the Italian-Turkish relations with Erdogan, Italy's Letta said he wished to improve the existing relations, reiterating Rome's support to Turkey in the process of EU accession.Güncelleme Tarihi: 22 Ağustos 2013, 09:28
