Turkish PM urges business to join Qatar FIFA Cup investments

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that there was no political problem between Turkey and Qatar.

"We paid a visit to Qatar, the shining star of the Middle East, with around 500 businessmen and several ministers. Such meetings will yield results in time," Erdogan said.

"When we take into consideration the 180 billion USD investment target of Qatar in the next five years, participation of Turkish businessmen in this process is important. Qatar will make serious investments as it became the venue of the 2022 FIFA World Cup," he said.

"I attach high importance to bilateral meetings of businessmen of Turkey and Qatar. Maintaining the talks in sectoral basis will accelerate the steps. We rely on each other. There is not any problem we can not solve as long as we act hand in hand," Erdogan said.

Erdogan said the distance between Turkey and Qatar is 2.5 hours, adding "we are like neighbors. Being the members of countries which have made a common history, we can not be foreigners to each other".
