Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrived in Hungary's capital Budapest for his official visit on Sunday.
"We are desirous of developing the already perfect political relations into economic gains," Gul told journalists at the airport in Ankara before his leave.
He will meet Hungarian Parliament Speaker Laszlo Kover, Prime Minister Viktor Orban and President Janos Ader.
Gul said that he would also address the Hungarian-Turkish Business Forum. Current annual trade between Turkey and Hungary is worth about $2 billion.
A group of senior officials and businesspeople, including Deputy Prime Minister Emrullah Isler and Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, accompany the president on his visit.
Gul was invited to Hungary by Ader. The visit is in return for that of then-President Pal Schmitt to Turkey in November 2011.Last Mod: 17 Şubat 2014, 10:03
