Turkish-US meeting on counterterrorism postponed

A planned bilateral meeting between Turkish and U.S. officials about counterterrorism has been postponed, a spokesman for the U.S. State Department said on Wednesday.

The meeting on Thursday between U.S. State Coordinator for counterterrorism Daniel Benjamin and Turkish officials in Ankara was postponed because the U.S. was not able to participate in the meeting, Philip Crowley said in a written statement.

Crowley said Turkey was a "valuable counterterrorism partner", and "we anticipate that the meeting will be rescheduled."
