Two buildings inhabited by Turkish families for the most part in Bremen, Germany, have been the target of an arson attack, TRT news reported.

Turkey's state TV said, the attackers made an attempt to torch the ground floors of both buildings but the fire was staved off with the inhabitants spotting the blaze.

No casualties have been reported from the incident but 30 people, most of them children, were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

The German police have taken a 22 year old man in the area into custody. The arson caused 100 thousand euros worth of damage.
