The Union of the European Football Associations (UEFA) will choose the host country of Euro 2016 on Friday.

The UEFA Executive Committee will select the host country of the 2016 European Football Championship in its meeting in Geneva, Switzerland on Friday.

France, Italy and Turkey have run their candidacies to host the championship.

France and Italy have each hosted the championship twice. The championship took place in France in 1960 and 1984, and in Italy in 1968 and 1980.

If Turkey wins the bid, it will be the first time it hosts European Football Championship finals.

Turkey has run its candidacy for the championship for three times, but its previous two bids have failed.

Turkey and Greece submitted a bid to host Euro 2008 together, and their bid qualified to the final with Austria-Switzerland bid. However, in the end, Austria-Switzerland won the bid to host Euro 2008. Turkey also applied to the UEFA to host Euro 2012.
