Doha Bank which has a representative office in Turkey for years has decided to become active in Turkish banking sector.
After Qatar's largest private sector bank, Commercial Bank of Qatar kicked off talks to buy the shares of Alternatif Bank, Doha Bank is preparing to enter Turkey's banking sector too.
Nezih Akalan, Turkey Head Representative of Doha Bank QSC which is Qatar's fifth largest bank, told Anadolu Agency, "We are interested in Turkish banking sector. We are even late about it."
Akalan reminded, Doha Bank made a move before the 2008 crisis to start its banking facilities in Turkey however, the bank had to postpone its plans due to the recession.
