Caglayan to attend Nigeria-Turkey Business Forum

Turkish State Minister for foreign trade Zafer Caglayan has arrived in Nigeria, the first stop of his African tour also covering Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.

A delegation of nearly 115 businessmen, public sector officials and journalists is accompanying Caglayan during his five-day visit aiming at promoting Turkey's export goods, increasing share of Turkish exporters in African markets and improving Turkey's investment and cooperation opportunities with those countries.

Caglayan is set to attend Nigeria-Turkey Business Forum on Monday. Following the meeting, Turkish and Nigerian businessmen will come together to discuss investment opportunities.

In 2009, trade volume between Turkey and Nigeria was slightly over 860 million USD and the figure was 669.5 million USD in the first ten months of 2010. Turkish exports to Nigeria totalled 250 millon USD in 2009.

The minister and the accompanying delegation will proceed to Ghana on Tuesday.
