French firm seeks long-term investment in Turkey

France-based Air Liquide, a global supplier of industrial gases, has said the company was seeking opportunities for long-term investment in Turkey after recently opening its first plant in the country.

"Air Liquide considers developing countries as an opportunity to grow. Our company has confidence in Turkey's long-term growth perspective," Olivier Randet, the company's Turkey director, told the Anadolu Agency on Wednesday.

Air Liquide has recently established a plant in the Turkish capital, Ankara, with an investment worth EUR35 million, Randet said adding the plant produced 200 tonnes of liquid nitrogen and liquid of oxygen.

"This is the first step we have taken here in Turkey. We want to make long-term investments in this country which has a lot to promise," Randet said.

Randet said Air Liquide had also signed an agreement with the Middle East Technical University in Ankara for the development of its photovoltaic research laboratory.
