ILO says to back govt labor reforms

The International Labor Organization (ILO) will support Turkey's union and collective bargaining initiatives, a Turkish executive said on Monday.

Gulay Aslantepe, the Turkey director of the ILO, told AA correspondent that the organization would extend every type of support to the Turkish government.

"Turkey will brief ILO's committee of experts on the constitutional amendment rehabilitating union and collective bargaining rights," Aslantepe said.

Aslantepe said Turkey would not be included in a black list.

ILO's Committee on Applications debated Turkey and 24 other countries on June 11 regarding contravention to several ILO conventions.
