Iranian minister visits Turkey's Education Construction Site

Iran's Minister of Housing and Development Ali Nikzad visited on Friday Turkey's Education Construction Site set up by Turkey's Highway, Building Construction Workers' Union (YOL-IS) and Turkey's Construction Industrialists Employers Union (INTES).

"This is the only institution in Turkey training construction workers," INTES chairman Sukru Kocoglu said during the visit.

Kocoglu said the union was negotiating with the Kazakh and Libyan governments to set up similar training centers in those countries.

"Our aim is to raise qualified laborers in Turkey," Kocoglu said.

Kocoglu said the union was willing to boost cooperation with Iran.

On Thursday, Nikzad met Turkish Public Works & Housing Minister Mustafa Demir and State Minister Cevdet Yilmaz.

Iran has recently launched a project to solve housing problem of the country. During his meeting with Demir, Nikzad said around 1.7 million homes were actually under
construction in cities and villages.

Currently, two Turkish firms are building 25,000 homes in Iran. Nikzad said he would extend his personal help if Turkish firms faced any problems in Iran.

He also said that Turkey and Iran could work together on construction techniques and regulations, and exchange their experiences on construction.
