Natural gas grid expanding in Southeast Turkey

 

Investments on natural gas distribution grid in Turkey's southeast region have increased substantially over the past two years, said on Monday a senior official with the country's energy market regulation authority, EPDK.

EPDK Chairman Hasan Koktas told the Anadolu Agency that the number of subscribers in the region had increased up to 50 thousand.

Koktas said investments to provide natural gas for nearly 800 thousand households in six provinces had been completed by 40 percent and the number of subscribers was expected to increase to as high as 230 thousand in the near future.
