Prices of vegetables, fruits in Turkey down after Russia's export ban

Prices of vegetables and fruits dropped due to Russia's ban on some Turkish exporter companies on charges that there is residue in vegetables and fruits.

Russia decided to include 13 biggest fresh fruits and vegetables exporter companies of Turkey into list of "red alert" and started to follow them.

Riza Uysal, Director of Wholesale Store of Antalya Municipality, said Tuesday exports of fresh fruits and vegetables slowed down after Russia included eight exporter
companies into the list of "red alert" and decided to follow five others closely.

Uysal said, "there is not adequate demand for the products in domestic and foreign markets. There is problem with exports. Prices of fruits and vegetables dropped because of it."
