SunExpress starts new flights between Turkey and Germany

SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, has started scheduled flights between the eastern Turkish city of Elazig and two German cities, Dusseldorf and
Frankfurt, company executives announced on Monday.

Flights will be made once a week on Mondays.

Company's Deputy Managing Director Haci Say said that SunExpress had so far launched scheduled flights from eight Anatolian cities to European destinations to by-pass Istanbul connection.

Flights between Elazig and Germany's Dusseldorf and Frankfurt take about four hours.

Founded in 1989 as a subsidiary company of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, SunExpress became the market leader in charter flights between Germany and Turkey as well as one of the largest scheduled carriers between Europe and southern Turkey.
