The subsidiary of Turkish and German airline companies will establish a new company in Germany.

SunExpress, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines (THY) and German Lufthansa, said in a statement Thursday that the new company "SunExpress Germany" would launch flights in summer of 2011 with three Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Based in Frankfurt, the new company will take over SunExpress' flights between eight Turkish cities and German cities.

SunExpress Germany will also begin flying between Germany and Egypt in 2011-2012 winter season.

Founded in October 1989 as a subsidiary company of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, SunExpress is the market leader in charter flights between Germany and Turkey as well as one of the largest scheduled carriers between Europe and southern Turkey.

The company's destinations across Europe include London, Paris, Brussels, Madrid, Milan, Amsterdam, Zurich, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Warsaw, Moscow, Prague and Helsinki. Additionally, Munich, Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Bremen, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Nuremberg, Dresden, Hannover and Muenster are among the destinations in Germany.

Since its foundation, SunExpress has carried about 18 million passengers on more than 155,000 flights. The number of passengers increased 21.2 percent to 6.2 million in the first eleven months of 2010. Also, company's revenues increased 19 percent to 481.7 million euro.
