Turkey’s aviation union (Hava-Is) says Turkish Airlines´s (THY) 256 former employees along with 39 staff from the subsidiary company, THY Teknik Corp., who were fired after participating in a strike in May 2012, will resume work after a joint commission cleared them on Wednesday.
According to a statement on the union´s website, 256 of the former employees were set to go back to work, while the situation of 39 staff from THY Teknik Corp. will further be discussed.
Aviation union Hava-Is, which represents Turkey's aviation industry´s 16,517 workers, has demanded that the company rehire 305 staff dismissed after industrial action that grounded hundreds of flights in May 2012.
In December 2013, the union officials and THY management have signed a agreement to rehire 305 of the Turkish Airlines workers, whose employment contracts were cancelled after participating in industrial action.Last Mod: 05 Şubat 2014, 15:04
