Turkey and Argentina plan direct flights

Turkish Minister of Transportation Binali Yildirim said Thursday that establishing direct flights between Turkey and Argentina was crucial.

Minister Yildirim met with the Argentine Planning, Public Investment and Services Minister Julio De Vido in Ankara on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters before his meeting with Vido, Yildirim said that all legal arrangements were made to begin direct flights between Turkey and Argentina. "It is high time to begin direct flights between our two countries," Yildirim said.

Direct flights between Turkey and Argentina would contribute to the development of relations in all fields, Yildirim stressed.

Turkey is a country far away from Latin America geographically. Yet the life styles of our peoples resemble each other very much. We can do many things together, Yildirim said.

We will discuss opportunities for cooperation at the Turkey-Argentina Business Forum to take place in Istanbul on Friday, Yildirim said.

Minister Vido, in his part, said that they felt at home in Turkey.

Reminding that the presidents and delegations of the two countries met each other in Ankara on Thursday, Vido said that it was impossible for the businesspeople of the two countries to work with each other unless there were direct flights between Turkey and Argentina.

We are aware of the honesty in the Turkish business world. The leaders of our countries will remove obstacles and our ministries will help make progress, Vido also said.
