Turkey, the world's biggest hazelnut supplier, has earned $1.69 billion from the 2013-2014 hazelnut export season through exporting 221,731 tons of hazelnuts in 10 months.
More than 164,000 tons were exported to EU countries through the season which began on 1 September 1, 2013 and ended on 31 June 31, 2014, according to the Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association on Tuesday.
Turkey exported 268,699 tons of hazelnuts and obtained $1.54 billion in the same period of last season.
The country is the largest producer of hazelnuts in the world and its production accounts for approximately 75 percent of worldwide production.
