The Turkish industry minister said on Friday that the government had allocated 7.1 billion Turkish liras (TL) (4.7 billion USD) of loan for small and medium scale enterprises.
Turkey's Industry and Trade Minister Nihat Ergun said the loan was granted to 130,000 small and medium scale enterprises between 2003 and 2010.
Ergun made public six new support programs for the small and medium scale enterprises.
The names of the mentioned programs are "program to support small and medium scale enterprise project", "program to support thematic project", "program to support R&D innovation and industrial practice, "entrepreneurship support program", "program to support cooperation" and "general support program".
"With these new supports, Small and Medium Scale Industry Development and Promotion Administration (KOSGEB) will become more efficient," Ergun said.
Ergun said the programs would take effect after KOSGEB Support Programs Regulation was published in the Official Gazette mid-June.
The government would open KOSGEB Central Directorate in 81 provinces after the programs took effect, Ergun said.
Ergun also said with the general support program, the government would support fairs, promotions, qualified employment, consultancy, energy efficiency, industrial property rights, design, documentations, tests and analyses.
