Trade volume between Turkey and Greece exceeded 3 billion U.S. dollars, chairperson of Izmir Chamber of Trade (IZTO), said on Saturday.
IZTO executive board chairperson Ekrem Demirtas released a statement noting that Greek businessmen from Crete island visited the western province of Izmir and held 320 meetings with representatives of Turkish companies.
"The chamber is exerting great efforts to boost Turkish-Greek relations. Trade volume between the two countries exceeded 3 billion U.S. dollars (in 2009). We aim to reach 10 billion U.S. dollars of trade volume," Demirtas said.
Greek delegation from Crete included businessmen from different sectors such as textile, food-beverage, tourism, furniture, steel-iron-aluminium, construction and livestock.
