Turkey's State Minister Cevdet Yilmaz met with President Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al Madani of the Islamic Development Bank in Ankara on Thursday.

Yilmaz said at the meeting, "Turkey's State Planning Organization (DTP) also coordinates works of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). We attach great importance to our relations with COMCEC and the Islamic Development Bank."

He said that the Islamic Development Bank donated nearly 1 million USD to a project developed recently by Turkey to boost trade between Turkish and Syrian border regions.

Yilmaz added that they were working on a loan package of 2 billion USD for the period of 2010-2013 with the Islamic Development Bank.

The Islamic Development Bank is an international financial institution established in December 1973. The Bank was officially opened on October 20, 1975. The purpose of the bank is to foster the economic development and social progress of member countries and Muslim communities.
