Turkey not much affected by global crisis

Chairman of the Association for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (KOBIDER) Nurettin Ozgenc said Saturday that Turkey's exports worth 113 billion USD in 2010 showed that Turkey was not much affected by the global crisis.

In a written statement issued Saturday, Ozgenc said that they were very much excited by the possibility of Turkey reaching exports worth 500 billion USD in the year 2023 when Turkey would celebrate the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic.

"We are confident that Turkey would reach export figures of 500 billion USD in 2023 if no domestic or international obstacles are placed on the Turkish economy," Ozgenc said.

"The fact that Turkey's exports have reached around 115 billion USD from 36 billion USD in recent years shows the confidence placed in small and medium scale businesses," Ozgenc also said.
