Turkey was ranked fourth in a list of countries to which Russia makes the largest amount of exports in 2009, according to figures released by an IMF report.

Turkey was ranked fourth in a list of countries to which Russia makes the largest amount of exports in 2009, according to figures released by an IMF report.

Turkey followed the Netherlands, Italy and Germany in the list as trade balance was against Turkey due to its heavy dependence on Russian natural gas.

According to separate data of the Turkey's statistics authority, TurkStat, in the first three months of 2010 Turkey ran $6.42 billion deficit against Russia which marked a 37.7 percent share in Turkey's total deficit of $16.11 billion for the same period.

Russia is ranked 14th among countries in Turkey's export list with a $1.55 billion for the first three months of 2010. Turkey's total imports from Russia in the same period was $7.59 billion.

Russia remains the biggest buyer for services of the Turkish construction firms, which carried out nearly a thousand project worth of $20 billion between 2003 and 2009.
