Turkey ranks 32nd among states attracting direct investments

 

In a report titled "2010 World Investment Report", the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) said that "with 7.6 billion USD of international direct investments in 2009, Turkey ranked 32nd among the countries of the world that attracted the most direct investments".

According to the report publicized by the Association of International Investors (YASED) on Thursday, the five countries that attracted the most international direct investments were the United States, China, France, Hong Kong and Britain.

Based on the figures of 2009, Turkey dropped 12 places on the list of countries receiving international direct investments.

In 2009, the amount of international direct investments that Turkey received dropped 58 percent compared to the previous year, the report said.

Turkey is expected to receive a total of seven billion USD of international direct investments in 2010, the report also said.
