The Central Management Budget's deficit in April increased by 370 percent when compared to the same month in 2009.

Turkish Ministry of Finance announced budget figures for the period January-April in 2010 on Friday.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Central Management Budget's deficit between January and April declined by 21.3 percent when compared to the same term last year.

In April, the Turkish government spent 25.1 billion TL (approx. 16.5 billion USD) from the Central Management Budget. In the same month, the Budget received an income of 20.7 billion TL (approx. 13.6 billion USD). Thus, the Budget deficit in April was recorded as 4.4 billion TL (approx. 2.89 billion USD).

Between January and April, Turkey's spendings from the Central Management Budget were recorded as 93.5 billion TL (approx. 61.5 billion USD) while budgetary income in the same period was recorded as 77.7 billion TL (approx. 51.1 billion USD).

Between January-April, 2009, the Central Management Budget's primary surplus was recorded as 1.1 billion TL (approx. 723.7 million USD). The primary surplus increased by
493.1 percent in the same period in 2010 and reached a value of 6.3 billion TL (approx. 4.1 billion USD).
