A high level official of Turkey's Privatization Administration, Ahmet Aksu, said Thursday the final bargaining for the privatization of 52 hydroelectric power plants will take place between May 4 and 20.

Speaking to the AA, Aksu said that both local and international investors have shown great interest in the privatization of the 52 hydroelectric power plants and made a total of 613 offers.

Aksu said that a notice for tender will be announced in June for the privatization of at least two power plants that are part of the government owned Electric Production Company (EUAS).

Among the power plants considered for privatization are Hamitabat (1.120 MW), Soma A-B (1.034 MW), Can (320 MW) and Seyitomer (600 MW).

Aksu also said that they planned to hold tenders for the privatization of at least three electric distribution centers in Turkey in July.
