Turkey says may review all trade ties with Israel after attack

Turkish foreign trade minister has said Israel's storming of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla might lead to review of trade relations with Israel.

"The inhumane attitude and the state terror conducted by Israel may cause discarding of all trade figures no matter how high they might be," Zafer Caglayan told reporters in Ankara, the Turkish capital.

Israel's deadly raid Monday on the six-ship aid flotilla bound for Gaza killed at least nine activists, wounding 30 others.

The Israeli raid drew widespread criticism as the UN Security Council condemned the aggression.

Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel and said that it canceled planned military exercises with Israel and called a youth soccer team back home from a tournament.

The trade volume between Turkey and Israel was around $2.5 billion last year.

"We are exerting best of our efforts to boost our trade relations with all countries but nothing is above our national and moral values," Caglayan said.
