Turkey says to start using small-size commercial aircraft

Turkey will start using small-size commercial aircraft for transportation, civil aviation authority said on Wednesday.

Ali Ariduru, the director general of Civil Aviation Authority, said that Turkey was making preparations for small-size commercial air transportation.

"Aircraft for 66 passengers will be used, and first flights will be from (Istanbul's) Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Tokat, Siirt, Zonguldak, Nevsehir and Antalya airports in the first place," Ariduru told AA correspondent.

Ariduru said airline companies would set the fees of small-size commercial flights, however he thought the prices would be reasonable.

The small-size jets provide access to small airports.

Turkish civil aviation aims to own 750 large-size aircraft and carry 350 million passengers by 2023.
