Turkey seeks place in housing projects in Iran

Turkish Public Works and Housing Minister Mustafa Demir said that Turkey and Iran could cooperate in the sector of construction and work on joint projects.

Demir met with Iranian Minister of Housing and Development Ali Nikzad as part of his formal visit to Iran.

Demir said at the meeting, "Turkey has undertaken giant construction projects in the last few years."

" Turkey was ranked second in the world behind the People's Republic of China in the sector of construction," he said.

"We want to take part in housing projects in Iran. Development of Turkey-Iran cooperation in construction will have a positive impact on cooperation ties in the other areas."

"We hope that a memorandum of understanding would be signed by Turkey and Iran soon to improve bilateral relations in the sector of construction," he added.
