Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said on Wednesday that Turkey stood by its forecast of 4 percent growth this year.

Babacan, who is currently in French capital of Paris for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Ministerial Council meeting, appeared on a television channel.

The government still maintained the expectation for the growth rate as 4 percent for 2012, he said, adding that if the figure was needed to be revised, then the government would do.

Replying to a question, Babacan said that Turkish economy was better than other developing countries', stating that Turkish economy was on a sound ground. Turkey had a sound banking system and did not have any problem regarding the budget, he added.
