Turkey to open export products fair in Indonesia

A Turkish exporters association will open an export products fair in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta in June.

The Istanbul Exporter' Association (IIB) would inaugurate Turkish Export Products Fair in Jakarta between June 16 and 19, association chairman Zekeriye Mete said on Sunday.

Mete defined Indonesia, with 250 million population, as one of the countries affected the least from the global economic crisis.

"Indonesia has so far made its trade with Malaysia and Singapore, however now it welcomes trade with Turkey to diversify its trade," Mete told AA correspondent.

Mete enumerated significant trade opportunities in Indonesia as sea products, food processing, packing machines and devices, agricultural equipment, iron and steel products, dried fruit, marble and natural stones, mining and jewelry, petrochemicals, chemicals and fertilizers, automotive and by-industry, construction materials, textile and carpet, electrical devices, energy equipment, port and dockyard equipment, ship and yacht industry.

Also, Mete said he believed Turkey would earn over 120 billion USD from its exports by the end of 2010.

Turkish exporters will visit Indonesia during the mentioned days under the chairmanship of State Minister Zafer Caglayan.

Around 70-80 companies will participate in the fair.

Turkey imports 21 products from Indonesia, and exports mainly cereals, chemicals, machine and transportation devices and tobacco to this country.
