Turkey wants to triple Africa trade volume, TOBB head says

Rifat Hisarciklioglu, Chairman of the Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and President of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), said that Turkey targeted to increase its trade volume with Africa three times in coming years.

Turkey-Africa trade volume is currently 12 billion USD, said Hisarciklioglu who spoke at a session on Turkey-Africa cooperation which was held within the scope of Africa Business Forum in Alexandria, Egypt on Wednesday.

He added that trade volume between Turkey and Africa also increased three times in the last five years.

He said that Turkey wanted to make business in Africa more, and he called African businessmen to make trade with Turkey.

Also speaking at the session, Turkish Ambassador in Cairo Huseyin Avni Botsali said that Turkey did not have the approach of colonizing the region, and stressed that Turkey supported peace, stability and justice both in the region and in international area.
