Turkey, Yemen sign protocol on tourism

Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said Tuesday the Turkish-Yemeni Joint Committee Meeting and the decisions taken today would contribute to the welfare of the two countries.

Speaking at a signature ceremony for a protocol on cooperation between Turkey and Yemen in tourism, Arinc said that the protocol was a result of two days of successful talks.

Commercial relations between Turkey and Yemen developed in a stable fashion in the recent years, Arinc said.

As part of the Joint Committee Meeting, we discussed diverse issues, including investments and tourism, Arinc said.

We have signed Tuesday an agreement for cooperation in the tourism sector, Arinc said.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Yemeni Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya Yahya al-Mutawakil thanked the delegations of the two countries for their efforts.

We have formed the base of our economic and commercial relations as two states. We hope that the two countries would establish a business council by the end of 2010. This council will be the engine of relations between Turkey and Yemen, al-Mutawakil said.
