Car sales in Turkey saw 0.7 percent drop year-on-year in the first four months of 2010 from 104,489 to 103,752, data released by an association of country's car retailers showed on Monday.
The slide in sales in Turkey paralleled a larger drop rate in sales in Europe, which plummeted 6.9 percent as Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria saw the largest shrink with 56%, 52.9% and 46.7%, respectively.
Turkey ranked 10th on a list of countries to make the greatest number of car sales in the January-April period as Germany topped the list with 929,824.
