Turkey's current accounts deficit was up 277.1 percent between January and November, 2010 when compared to the same term last year.

Turkey's current accounts deficit was up 277.1 percent between January and November 2010 when compared to the same term last year and reached a figure of 41.6 billion USD, the Turkish Central Bank announced on Tuesday.

In 2009, Turkey's current accounts deficit was 11.3 billion USD between January and November.

In November 2010 only, Turkey's current accounts deficit was 5.9 billion USD, up 225 percent from the same month a year earlier.

Central Bank also said that Jan-Nov foreign trade deficit increased 128.6 percent to nearly 49 billion USD, a rise that triggered the jump in current account deficit.

In first 11 months of 2010, Turkey's net tourism income was down 7.5 percent year-on-year to 15.2 billion USD.

But in return, net capital inflow to Turkey skyrocketed 424.7 percent to 38.1 billion USD. However,foreign direct investments dropped to 4.88 billion from 6.55 billion USD.
