Turkey's industrial employment increased 5.5 percent in the third quarter of 2010 when compared to the same period of 2009.

Turkey's industrial employment increased 5.5 percent in the third quarter of 2010 when compared to the same period of 2009.

It also rose 2.2 percent when compared to the second quarter of 2010, stated TurkStat on Monday.

"Quarterly industrial employment index with 2005 base year calculated in terms of the NACE Rev.2 increased 5.5 percent over to the same quarter of 2009 and 2.2 percent over to the previous quarter in the third quarter of 2010," said TurkStat.

Quarterly industrial employment index is 102, it noted.

Hours worked in industry increased 4.4 percent over to the same quarter of 2009, and 0.3 percent over to the previous quarter.

Quarterly hours worked index in industry rose 4.4 percent over to the same quarter of 2009, and 0.3 percent over to the previous quarter in the third quarter of 2010. Quarterly hours worked index in industry is 99.

Gross wages-salaries in industry rose 17 percent over to the same quarter of 2009, and 5.2 percent over to the previous quarter.

Quarterly gross wages-salaries index in industry increased 17 percent over to the same quarter of 2009, and 5.2 percent over to the previous quarter in the third quarter of 2010. Quarterly gross wages-salaries index in industry is 167.1.

Over to the same quarter of 2009, employment increased 8.4 percent in intermediate goods, 4.6 percent in durable consumer goods, 4.3 percent in non-durable consumer goods, decreased 3.2 percent in energy and increased 5.9 percent in capital goods.

Over to the previous quarter, employment increased 2.4 percent in intermediate goods, 1.1 percent in durable consumer goods, 2.5 percent in non-durable consumer goods, decreased 2.1 percent in energy and increased 3 percent in capital goods.

Over to the same quarter of 2009, hours worked increased 7.2 percent in intermediate goods, 0.5 percent in durable consumer goods, by 3.4 percent in non-durable consumer goods, decreased 3.5 percent in energy and increased 5.8 percent in capital goods.

Over to the previous quarter, hours worked increased 0.9 percent in intermediate goods, decreased 3.6 percent in durable consumer goods, increased 1.3 percent in non-durable consumer goods, decreased 2.7 percent in energy and 1 percent in capital goods.

Over to the same quarter of 2009, gross wages-salaries increased 22.1 percent in Intermediate goods, 13.3 percent in durable consumer goods, 14.2 percent in non-durable consumer goods, 8.3 percent in energy, and 20 percent in capital goods.

Over to the previous quarter, gross wages-salaries increased 6.6 percent in intermediate goods, 3.6 percent in durable consumer goods, 4.6 percent of non-durable consumer goods, 3.6 percent in energy and 5.5 percent in capital goods.
