Industrial Turnover Index in May 2010 increased by 20.3 percent compared to May 2009.

TurkStat, Turkey's statistics authority, said on Friday that the Industrial Turnover Index increased 4.5 percent in May compared to April.

In the sub sectors level of industry, Mining Sector Index increased by 41.5 percent, Manufacturing Sector Index increased by 19.7 percent in May 2010 compared with May 2009.

According to Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs) Classification, the highest increase in May 2010 over the same month of previous year realized in Intermediate Goods.

In the Sub sectors level of Industry the highest increase realized in Manufacture of Basic Metals.

When the change rates of Industrial Turnover Index in May 2010 compared to May of 2009 inspected, the highest increase was in Manufacture of Basic Metals by 55.4 percent, it is followed by Manufacture of Radio, TV and Communication Apparatus by 32.4 percent.

Industrial New Orders Index in May 2010 increased by 21.8 percent compared the same month in previous year.
