Turkey has become the partner country for the world's biggest technology trade show, CeBIT in 2011.

The trade show will take place in German city of Hannover on March 1 and 5, 2011.

Istanbul Chamber of Commerce said in a statement on Monday that German Informatics and Telecommunication Association BITKOM and Deutsche Messe, which will organize the trade show, declared Turkey as the partner country for the trade show in 2011.

On the sidelines of the trade show, Turkish-German Information and Communication Technologies Summit will be held on March 1, 2011.

Murat Yalcintas, chairman of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, said, "4,157 firms from 68 countries took part in this year's trade show. And 334 thousand people from 77 countries visited it. Trade volume exceeded 10 billion euro in CeBIT 2010."

Yalcintas said that they were planning to establish the biggest technology development zone of the region at Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen Airport.
