Turkey's net travel revenues dropped by 6.2 percent to 3.2 billion Turkish lira (TL) between January and May 2010 compared to the same period of last year.
Turkish Central Bank released balance of payments statistics for May and the period between January and May 2010 on Monday.
"The travel revenues increased by 2.2 percent to $5 billion while the travel expenditures rose by 22.1 percent to $1.7 billion between January and May 2010 in comparison with the same period of 2009," it said.
Direct investment indicated a net inflow of $1.6 billion in the first five months of 2010, a 49.2 percent decrease over the same period of 2009, the bank said.
