Turkey's tourism revenue dropped in the first quarter of 2010.
TurkStat stated on Thursday that the first term (January-February-March) tourism revenue in 2010 decreased 2.2 percent to 2.4 billion USD when compared to the same period of 2009.
According to TurkStat, 1.7 billion USD of tourism revenue was obtained from foreign tourists, and 676.4 million USD from Turkish citizens who are living abroad in the mentioned term.
Tourism expenses (the expenses of Turkish citizens who visit foreign countries) increased 10.4 percent and reached 989.9 million USD in the first quarter of 2010 when compared to the same period of 2009.
