The number of unemployed increased by nearly 154 thousand to reach over 2.7 million people nationwide.
According to statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the unemployment rate was 9.7 percent in October.
Meanwhile, the number of employed increased by over 152 thousand compared to the same period last year to reach nearly 25.44 million people in November 2013.
The labour force participation rate (LFPR) rose to 50.5 percent with a 0.2 percentage point decrease compared to the same period in 2012. The non-agriculture unemployment rate reached 12 percent with a 0.3 percentage point increase and the youth unemployment rate reached 19.3 percent with a 0.5 percentage point increase.
