Turkish Airlines makes first flight to Bangladesh's Dhaka

Turkey's national air carrier, the Turkish Airlines (THY), has made its maiden flight to Bangladesh's capital city of Dhaka, THY's 171st destination for direct flights from Turkey's main commercial hub, Istanbul.

A THY Airbus A-330 landed Tuesday at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjala International Airport where a ceremony was held to mark the Turkish carrier's first flight to Dhaka.

Company's chief official for long-range destinations, Sezgin Saglam, said THY scheduled four flights a week from Istanbul every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday with round-trip tickets starting from 590 euros, taxes included.

Saglam said the THY was set to launch new long-range destinations, which would include Vietnam and Guangzhou, China in January as well as Los Angeles in March next year.
