Passengers on Turkish Airlines (THY) increased by 1.4 million in the first two months of 2014, compared to the previous year, according to a statement released by the airline Monday. 

The statement said there had been a 22.1 percent increase, from 6.4 million to 7.8 million passengers, between January and February compared to the same period in 2013.

Passengers on domestic flights increased 28.6 percent and 17.7 percent on international flights, while the number of flights in total during the period rose by 21.5 percent, from 50,521 to 61,389, and its number of destinations rose to 243.
